Packaging Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Development Manager to lead our packaging operations across multiple sites within a large food manufacturing business. You will be responsible for ensuring that all packaging meets current legislation, customer specifications and industry standards while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end packaging operation, overseeing design, compliance and performance.
• Collaborate with Production, Technical and New Product Development teams to optimise packaging solutions.
• Monitor and interpret food packaging legislation and labelling requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance.
• Lead a team of packaging professionals, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement operational excellence initiatives to improve cost, sustainability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in food manufacturing and packaging operations.
• Strong knowledge of food packaging legislation and labelling regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication abilities.
• Proactive problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
