Painter and Decorator – External Works in Central London

About the role

Woodcote Contractors are seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to join a short‑term external redecoration project in Central London. The role starts immediately and runs for 2‑6 months, offering a competitive daily rate.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate work surfaces to determine preparation needs.
• Set up and work from fixed scaffolding, scaffold towers and work platforms.
• Prepare surfaces by filling crevices, sealing walls, repairing joinery and abrading as required.
• Scrape loose paint from metalwork and railings, apply primers and finish coats.
• Apply appropriate paints, primers and system coats to exterior walls, joinery and metal surfaces.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, dismantling protective covers and support structures after each job.
• Adhere to project deadlines, budgets and quality standards while being courteous to occupants.

Required profile

• Valid CSCS card.
• Own tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to travel to the site using public transport (no on‑site parking).
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and follow specifications.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £190‑£225 (CIS)
• Fixed‑term contract of 2‑6 months with immediate start
• Full‑time hours (8‑9 hours per day), Monday‑Friday with occasional Saturdays
