Painter & Decorator – Full‑Time, Tower Hamlets

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join Mears Group’s maintenance team in Tower Hamlets. You will deliver high‑quality internal and external painting, wallpapering, and damp & mould treatment across residential properties, ensuring homes are returned to a liveable condition.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and paint internal surfaces such as walls, ceilings, doors, and woodwork.
• Apply emulsion, gloss, specialist finishes and carry out wallpapering where required.
• Perform external painting at height, including fascia boards and soffits, using ladders safely.
• Treat damp and mould issues and support void property refurbishments.
• Conduct snagging, touch‑up work and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle to a high standard.
• Complete job records and documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with tenants, clients and colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in painting, decorating and wallpapering.
• Experience with damp & mould treatments.
• Ability to work safely at height and use ladders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
• Own hand tools and a full UK driving licence.
