Painter & Decorator

About the role

North Manchester General is looking for a dedicated Painter & Decorator to support the Estates Directorate. You will help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors across all hospital sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine painting, wallpapering and touch‑up work on wards, corridors, patient rooms and external areas.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and causes minimal disruption to clinical activities.
• Respond to reactive jobs and planned maintenance tasks issued through the Trust’s CAFM system.
• Update job status and preventive‑maintenance records using a trust‑issued smartphone.
• Assist the Director of Estates with minor repairs, planned maintenance and small improvement projects.

Required profile

• Experience in painting and decorating within a healthcare or similar sensitive environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Willingness to follow instructions from the building supervisor and adapt to evolving duties.
