Painter & Decorator – Leeds (Full‑Time)

About the role

Mears Group is seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join its Leeds maintenance team. You will work on internal and external decorating projects across residential properties, helping to return void homes to a lettable condition and delivering reactive maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and paint internal surfaces such as walls, ceilings, doors and woodwork.
• Apply emulsion, gloss, specialist finishes and wallpaper with precision.
• Carry out external painting at height, including fascia boards and soffits.
• Perform damp and mould treatment and related remedial work.
• Support void refurbishments, conduct snagging and touch‑up work.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle to high standards.
• Complete job records and documentation accurately and on time.

Required profile

• Proven experience in painting, decorating and wallpapering.
• Experience with damp & mould treatments.
• Ability to work safely at height using ladders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and own hand tools.
