Paralegal – Local Authority Collections Team

About the role

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our busy Local Authority Collections Team in Liverpool. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am‑5:00 pm, within a modern commercial business that specialises in debt recovery litigation for councils and other public bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist solicitors in managing a diverse range of local authority debt recovery matters.
• Collect business rates, council tax and provide expert advice on problematic cases.
• Support case preparation, documentation and liaise with council clients.
• Help develop client relationships and contribute to the team’s fast‑paced workflow.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Paralegal (experience in debt recovery is a plus but not mandatory).
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
• Positive, collaborative attitude and desire to progress within a supportive legal team.
