Paralegal - Team 6

About the role

Work alongside experienced litigated file handlers and qualified solicitors to progress matters such as discovery, quantum evidence analysis, liaison with counsel and third‑party experts, trial preparation and legal research. The role is suitable for both experienced paralegals and recent graduates seeking vital legal experience and career progression, with a target of five chargeable hours per day.

Key responsibilities

• Work within an insurance defence litigation specialist area, assisting qualified solicitors with caseloads to achieve client‑driven commercial outcomes.
• Progress discovery matters by drafting pleadings and reviewing all discoverable material.
• Conduct legal research, monitor evolving case law and procedural nuances.
• Take informal and formal statements from witnesses and assist with investigation matters.
• Prepare trial bundles and support clients and witnesses for testimony.
• Analyse quantum evidence, create chronologies and identify anomalies across hospital, GP notes and medico‑legal reports to aid reserve calculations.
• Instruct counsel and medico‑legal experts by compiling briefs and letters of instruction.
• Manage daily task lists, prioritize deadlines and maintain service level agreements.
• Utilise the case management system for efficient file supervision, financial hygiene and accurate client reporting.

Required profile

• Law degree (or equivalent).
• No prior experience required – suitable for recent graduates.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Commitment to achieve agreed targets and service level agreements.
