Part Qualified Accountant – Edinburgh (Study Support)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑known Edinburgh accountancy firm to hire a Part Qualified Accountant. The position is ideal for an early‑career professional who wants a supportive environment, a varied client portfolio and full study support to achieve full qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual and management accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, charities and trusts.
• Compile and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
• Assist with bookkeeping tasks, invoice processing and bank reconciliations.
• Communicate with clients and colleagues to deliver high‑quality service.
• Manage workload and meet agreed timelines and budgets.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a practice‑based Accounts Assistant role.
• Experience preparing accounts up to trial balance or review stage.
• Part‑qualified (ACCA, ICAS or equivalent) and actively studying.
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks, or a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and a client‑focused attitude.
