Part Time Accountancy Practice Bookkeeper

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Bookkeeper to join a well‑established chartered accountancy practice in Ashford, Kent. The role involves delivering day‑to‑day bookkeeping, preparing management accounts, and handling VAT and CIS returns for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns.
• Assist in the production of management accounts.
• Occasionally visit client premises to gather information.
• Support the team with ad‑hoc accounting tasks as required.

Required profile

• AAT qualified, currently studying, or qualified by experience.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.
• Access to a personal vehicle for client visits.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero or QuickBooks accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• AAT qualification (or equivalent experience).
