Part-time Accounts Assistant

About the role

This part‑time Accounts Assistant position supports an organisation based in Kings Hill within the accountancy sector. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, handling day‑to‑day accounting and tax queries while working closely with the Accounts Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strong client relationships and act as the main contact for accountancy and tax enquiries.
• Maintain bookkeeping and double‑entry records, including journal entries.
• Prepare and process quarterly VAT returns, management accounts, year‑end accounts and reconciliations.
• Assist with company tax return compliance – collating, preparing, submitting and reviewing returns.
• Liaise with Inland Revenue and Companies House on queries.
• Attend client meetings and provide financial analysis, forecasts and recommendations.
• Coordinate documentation workflow with the Accounts Manager to meet all deadlines.

Required profile

• Qualified by experience or AAT qualified.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

What we offer

• Salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 per year, dependent on experience.
