Part-Time Bookkeeper – Hybrid (Glasgow)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Part‑Time Bookkeeper to support the Finance Controller of a fast‑growing e‑commerce business. The role is hybrid, offering one day per week in our Hillington office and two days remote, providing flexibility while delivering a high level of autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments) in Xero.
• Maintain and update the general ledger.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Update and manage invoices on a daily basis.
• Assist with payroll processes, including timesheets and liaison with the external payroll provider.
• Support preparation of financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and expense analysis.
• Handle shipping and payment documentation for domestic and international operations.
• Provide general administrative support as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero (essential).
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
