Part-Time Finance Manager

About the role

Our client, a manufacturing business based in Verwood, is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage the accounting and payroll function on a part‑time basis. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Finance Director, providing accurate financial reporting and supporting long‑term business planning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and enter month‑end journals using Sage.
• Develop accrual and pre‑payment schedules.
• Oversee sales and purchase ledger activity and follow up on unpaid or incorrect invoices.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Check and approve weekly payroll, advising on holiday, sickness and maternity payments.
• Process monthly PAYE and National Insurance contributions.
• Assist the Finance Director with long‑term business plans.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant.
• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Experience handling payroll and general office administration.
