Part-Time Finance Manager

About the role

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation is seeking a Finance Manager on a permanent part‑time basis (21 hours per week). You will own core finance operations, support a small finance team and help strengthen the financial foundation of a global charity that empowers millions of young people.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day delivery of the finance function, ensuring accurate processing and strong internal controls.
• Own the month‑end close process, coordinate timelines, review ledger postings and produce high‑quality balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage and develop the Finance Officer and Credit Controller, providing coaching and clear direction.
• Oversee transactional finance activities including purchase and sales ledger, payments, receipts, VAT accounting and Gift Aid submissions.
• Prepare management accounts and work with the Head of Finance to ensure financial data supports decision‑making.
• Maintain audit‑ready finance operations and continuously improve processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance management within a non‑profit or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, month‑end procedures and financial reporting.
• Ability to lead and develop a small finance team.
• Experience with VAT accounting and Gift Aid processing.
