Part-time HR & Compliance Manager

About the role

This part‑time position offers the chance to lead HR, compliance, health & safety and governance functions for a growing UK‑based consultancy. You will work closely with managers to ensure legal and regulatory standards are met while fostering a safe and high‑performing workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle – recruitment, onboarding, performance, development and off‑boarding.
• Maintain HR policies, employee handbook and ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and GDPR.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, absence management, disciplinary actions and grievances.
• Oversee health & safety programmes, conduct risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations.
• Maintain ISO 9001 (and related) management systems, lead internal audits and coordinate external certification.
• Administer the organisation’s insurance portfolio, handling renewals, claims and insurer relationships.
• Maintain compliance registers, support business continuity planning and liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR and compliance management within a UK environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, GDPR, health & safety regulations (COSHH, DSE, fire safety) and ISO standards.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain policies, procedures and training programmes.
• Experience handling insurance contracts and coordinating audits.
