Part Time Interim CFO (2‑3 days/week)

About the role

FD Recruit is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer to work 2‑3 days per week over a six‑month period. Based in South Wales with occasional travel to London for board meetings, the role supports a private‑equity‑backed group during a critical transformation phase.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial advice to the Group CEO, Board and shareholders.
• Lead financial aspects of acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and exit planning.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, 13‑week cash forecasts and working‑capital optimisation.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance and investor‑grade reporting across the Group.
• Prepare and review board papers, management information and covenant reporting for lenders.
• Mentor the existing Group Finance Director to build a succession pipeline for the permanent CFO role.
• Collaborate with private‑equity investors, lenders and external advisers to drive the value‑creation plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in private‑equity‑backed, lender‑owned or turnaround environments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence boards, investors and senior executives.
• Strong track record of improving profitability, cash generation and shareholder value.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills to develop finance teams.
