Part-Time School Catering Manager (Wirral)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Catering Manager to lead the school kitchen on the Wirral. This part‑time, temporary role offers 18 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday, with the potential to become permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the school kitchen.
• Prepare and serve nutritious, high‑quality meals.
• Lead, motivate and support a small catering team.
• Maintain food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen standards.
• Control stock, place orders and manage kitchen budgets.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant.

Required profile

• Previous experience managing a catering operation, preferably in a school or education setting.
• Food Hygiene Level 3 (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
• Positive, hands‑on approach with excellent communication.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Required skills

• Food Hygiene Level 3 certification.
• Experience with stock control and budgeting.
