Part-Time Sheltered Housing Officer (Later Living)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and compassionate Sheltered Housing Officer to join The Hyde Group’s Specialist Housing team in Chichester. The part‑time role (30 hours per week) supports older adults living in our later‑living schemes, ensuring safe, well‑managed environments that promote independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of communal areas, identifying repairs, hazards and maintenance needs.
• Manage lettings processes including viewings, tenancy onboarding and resident inductions.
• Serve as first point of contact for tenancy issues such as anti‑social behaviour, neighbour disputes and service enquiries.
• Build strong relationships with residents through wellbeing visits, engagement and communication.
• Coordinate communal services – cleaning, repairs, grounds maintenance and contractor activity.
• Lead resident engagement, wellbeing initiatives and community activities, promoting independence and digital access.
• Carry out statutory health & safety, fire safety and compliance checks and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Proactive, compassionate and customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and build trusted relationships with residents.
• Willingness to undergo a basic DBS check.
• Commitment to health & safety, fire safety and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Experience of housing management or community‑based support for older adults.
• Knowledge of health & safety and fire safety regulations.
• Strong communication and conflict‑resolution abilities.
