Part-Time Social Care Worker

About the role

Essential Homecare Services is a domiciliary care agency providing high standards of care to service users in the North Down and Ards area, through its domiciliary care and dementia buddy respite services. It is looking for a part-time Social Care Worker to attend service users' homes and carry out the care duties set out in their personal care plan.

Key responsibilities

• Attend service users' homes and provide the care duties detailed in their personal care plan, ensuring compliance with it
• Comply with NISCC registration and report any change in personal circumstances that could affect your ability to perform your duties
• Assist with bathing in bed, in the bathroom or on an assessed chair
• Assist with incontinence products, catheter care and stoma bags
• Assist with dressing and undressing
• Assist with mobility and transfers using professionally assessed equipment
• Assist with feeding according to speech and language recommendations
• Provide emotional support and communicate effectively with service users, colleagues and management

Required profile

• Right to live and work in the UK
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work; willing to obtain business car insurance
• Flexibility regarding working hours
• Honest, trustworthy, reliable with excellent attendance, highly self-motivated and able to maintain confidentiality
• Professional manner with service users and their families

Desired criteria

• Previous experience in the care industry

What we offer

• Pay of £12.50 per hour (driver) / £11.50 (non-driver) Monday to Friday 7am-7pm, and £13.00 (driver) / £11.50 (non-driver) Saturday and Sunday from 7pm to midnight
• Mileage payment of 37 pence per mile
