About the role

This is a 0.5 FTE Year 5 teaching position in a vibrant primary school in Blackburn. The role starts on a one‑year fixed‑term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent, offering a flexible pattern of one full day and three afternoons per week.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons for Year 5 pupils.
• Follow the school’s broad, balanced curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Support each child’s progress and wellbeing, adapting approaches as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive, supportive school culture.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable but not essential).
