Partner – Head of Wills, Trusts & Estates Disputes (Bristol)

About the role

This is a senior partnership opportunity to lead the nationally recognised Wills, Trusts & Estates Disputes practice of a Legal 500 and Chambers‑ranked firm. Based in Bristol, you will shape the strategic direction of the practice while advising high‑net‑worth clients on complex contentious probate matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the firm’s national Wills, Trusts & Estates Disputes offering.
• Advise on a broad range of contentious probate matters, including Inheritance Act claims, will validity disputes, trust and trustee disputes, executor disputes, proprietary estoppel, Court of Protection litigation, construction and rectification claims, and complex domestic and international estate disputes.
• Mentor, coach and develop junior lawyers within the practice.
• Generate new business and expand the client base using the firm’s CRM and marketing resources.
• Collaborate with the Private Client department to secure internal referrals and cross‑sell services.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with extensive experience in contentious probate, preferably at partner or senior associate level.
• Proven track record of handling high‑value, high‑net‑worth disputes, including cross‑border matters.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a specialist practice and drive business growth.
• Strong commercial awareness and client‑focused mindset.
