Partner / Legal Director

About the role

We are seeking a senior lawyer to join a national law firm’s Regulatory & Advisory team in Bristol. The position is aimed at a Partner or Legal Director who will help shape the future direction of the practice and enjoy greater autonomy and career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Advise a diverse client base—including corporates, public sector bodies and regulated businesses—on complex regulatory and advisory matters.
• Develop and nurture long‑term client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Lead and contribute to high‑profile regulatory projects, public inquiries and contentious work.
• Collaborate with recognised specialists to grow the practice and win new work.

Required profile

• Significant experience in one or more specialist areas such as Financial Services Regulation, Health & Social Care, Public Inquiries or Health & Safety/Regulatory Defence.
• Strong technical and commercial judgement.
• Proven track record of building lasting client relationships and generating business.
• Ambition to contribute to practice growth and take on partnership responsibilities.
