Partner – Residential Development (Social Housing)

About the role

Birketts LLP is seeking a Partner to join its Residential Development Team in Sevenoaks. The role focuses on the Social Housing sector and involves overseeing the full spectrum of development work while driving the team’s strategic direction.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow client relationships across residential development and social housing projects.
• Oversee land promotion, acquisition, estate and infrastructure projects, and plot sales (both open market and social housing disposals).
• Lead, mentor and develop junior lawyers, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate closely with tax, planning, environmental, construction and litigation specialists.
• Participate in networking events, conferences and business‑development activities to expand the firm’s market presence.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in residential development law, with a strong focus on social housing.
• Proven track record of managing complex development transactions and client portfolios.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent commercial awareness and ability to contribute to the firm’s strategic objectives.
