Part‑time Bookkeeper (20 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a friendly, forward‑thinking accountancy practice in Olney on a part‑time basis. The role offers a flexible 20‑hour week, with the possibility of additional hours and school‑time scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions accurately.
• Code receipts and purchase invoices using Dext.
• Complete bank reconciliations and check balance‑sheet control accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide proactive support.
• Manage workload to meet agreed deadlines.
• Participate in regular MS Teams check‑ins and weekly team meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum AAT Level 3 qualification.
• At least three years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice or as a self‑employed Bookkeeper.
• Ability to work independently and organise workload effectively.
• Professional communication skills and a client‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to work from the Olney office.

• Xero accounting software.
• Dext for receipt processing.
• MS Teams for collaboration.
