About the role
We are partnering with a modern accounting firm located on the outskirts of Leigh‑on‑Sea to recruit a part‑time Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will support the finance team by maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with tax requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Process and record sales, purchase and bank transactions using Xero or Sage.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and keep ledgers up to date.
- Maintain purchase, sales and nominal ledgers with correct coding.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, CIS returns and expense reconciliations.
- Gather and organise documentation for management accounts and year‑end reviews.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in an accounting practice.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with clients and colleagues.

What we offer
- Salary between £25,000 and £30,000 per year.
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro‑rated for part‑time).
- Flexible working 2–3 days per week on‑site.
