Part‑time Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for an experienced part‑time Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and support our day‑to‑day finance function. This hands‑on role offers variety and the chance to contribute directly to a growing professional services business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile all transactions.
• Process purchase and sales ledger entries and prepare general ledger postings.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and other balance‑sheet accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist in preparing management information, trial balances and month‑end/year‑end close procedures.
• Support payroll processing and maintain related records.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding payments and queries.
• Ensure records are audit‑ready and support the wider finance team with ad‑hoc duties.

Required profile

• Previous bookkeeping experience in a sole‑charge role.
• Good knowledge of VAT and financial compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Professional, discreet handling of confidential information.
