Part‑time Catering Assistant – School Kitchen (Term Time)

About the role

Join HCL as a Catering Assistant at John Warner Secondary School, working 16.25 hours per week on a term‑time basis. You will help deliver safe, nutritious meals to children while upholding the highest standards of food hygiene and safeguarding.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to pupils.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards in line with health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean and sanitary.
• Represent HCL values and ensure a safe environment for children.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification (preferred).
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens (preferred).
• Team‑player with reliable punctuality and a drive to grow.

What we offer

• £12.71 per hour (£9,180 per annum) – paid hourly.
