Part‑time Commis Chef – Cambridge

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Commis Chef to join our team at Monkfield Arms in Cambourne, near Cambridge. You will help prepare and bring our pub menu to life while developing your culinary skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking dishes according to menu specifications.
• Support the kitchen team with daily operations, including stock handling and station set‑up.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Work efficiently in a fast‑paced pub kitchen and deliver hot food to spec.
• Learn new prep techniques and gradually take ownership of a kitchen section.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar chef or kitchen porter role, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Passion for producing quality food consistently.
