About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our award‑winning pub team in Port Glasgow. This part‑time position offers reliable hours and the chance to develop your culinary skills in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking menu items to specification.
• Support the kitchen team with daily operations, including mise en place and stock management.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.
• Learn new prep techniques and gradually take ownership of a kitchen section.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar kitchen role or as a kitchen porter, with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively within a team in a busy pub environment.
• Passion for delivering hot, quality food consistently.

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques.
• Understanding of kitchen health and safety standards.
