Part‑time Design & Technology Teacher (KS3‑KS4) – London

About the role

We are seeking a Design & Technology (DT) teacher to work part‑time (three days a week) at a well‑established 11‑19 mixed comprehensive school in central London. The role starts in September and covers Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will deliver the AQA GCSE DT curriculum and may also teach Food Technology.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons for KS3 and KS4, following the AQA GCSE specification.
• Teach resistant materials and food preparation and nutrition where required.
• Use 2‑D design and CAD software to support student projects.
• Operate workshop machinery, equipment and tools safely and demonstrate best practice.
• Assess student work, provide feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to the school’s wider curriculum and partnership activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or an equivalent overseas secondary teaching qualification.
• Eligibility to teach at Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Ability to teach both newly qualified teachers (NQT) and experienced staff.
• Willingness to start immediately and begin teaching at the start of the September term.

Required skills

• AQA GCSE Design and Technology knowledge.
• Proficiency in 2‑D design and CAD software.
• Competence with workshop machinery, equipment and tools.
• Understanding of resistant materials and manufacturing processes.
• Capability to teach Food Preparation and Nutrition.
