Part‑time Finance Manager (3 days/week)

About the role

Our client in East Kent is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to work three days a week on‑site. The role involves overseeing financial management, reporting and governance while supporting the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees.

Key responsibilities

• Produce management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow reports.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control processes.
• Maintain QuickBooks accounting files on a full accrual basis.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure effective financial controls.
• Oversee year‑end procedures, audit preparation and statutory reporting.
• Support funding applications, grant reporting and financial returns.
• Provide financial insight and recommendations for decision‑making.
• Line‑manage the Finance Officer and advise the wider organisation on financial matters.
• Ensure accurate payroll administration and liaise with the outsourced payroll provider.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified, part‑qualified or qualified‑by‑experience accountant.
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance role.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting abilities.
• Proficient in communicating financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Organised, proactive and capable of working independently.
