Part‑time General Teaching Assistant (Mornings) – Southwark

About the role

A friendly primary school in Southwark is seeking a part‑time General Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class. The role runs mornings only, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, starting in September. You will work closely with the class teacher to help deliver engaging lessons and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering daily lessons for Year 3 pupils.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students as needed.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources.
• Support inclusion strategies and monitor pupil progress.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, patient and confident when interacting with children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Previous experience in a primary school setting is highly desirable.
• Reliable and able to commit to the morning schedule (8:30 am‑1:00 pm).
