Part‑time HR Manager – Educational Establishment

About the role

This part‑time HR Manager position supports a prestigious educational establishment in Radlett. Working closely with the head of finance and the principal, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle during term‑time, ensuring compliance and best practice across all HR functions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, including advertising, applicant liaison and safer recruitment procedures.
• Advise on staff contracts, term‑time and term‑time plus arrangements, and calculate holiday entitlements.
• Identify training needs, recommend development programmes and coordinate staff training.
• Provide HR advice to the bursar and other stakeholders, handling queries and building strong relationships.
• Maintain an HR caseload covering investigations, disciplinary actions, probation, absence management and grievances.
• Stay up‑to‑date with employment law and ensure the establishment complies with any changes.
• Develop, implement and review HR policies, procedures and practices to meet operational requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an HR Officer, Managerial or senior HR role.
• Desirable CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification (not essential).
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Professional, proactive attitude with the ability to take ownership of the role.
• Strong administrative abilities and good IT proficiency.
