Part‑time Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Kitchen Assistant to join the caring team at Beechlands Care Home in Clarendon Park, Leicester. The role supports 18 residents with learning disabilities and mental health needs, ensuring they receive nutritious meals in a dignified setting. You will work regular shifts across a 7‑day week, balancing work and personal life.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages according to residents' dietary requirements.
• Carry out quality checks on prepared food and storage conditions.
• Plan menus that reflect residents' preferences and nutritional needs.
• Assist with food service to provide a dignified dining experience.
• Maintain stock records and order supplies in line with food safety regulations.
• Keep the kitchen hygienic, tidy and support deep‑cleaning tasks.

Required profile

• Genuine caring nature with patience and respect for individual abilities.
• Desire to make a real difference for residents.
• Experience as a cook; food‑hygiene or catering qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Willingness to undertake training provided by Prime Life.
