Part‑time Lecturer – Creative Industries

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic part‑time Lecturer to deliver high‑quality, industry‑aligned teaching across the Creative Industries curriculum at Blackburn College. You will support students through both practical projects and academic study, bringing current professional practice into the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging lectures, workshops and tutorials for Creative Industries modules.
• Develop and manage industry partnerships, including guest lectures, live briefs and client‑led projects.
• Provide academic and pastoral support to students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and assessment strategies.
• Maintain an active professional network within the creative sector.

Required profile

• Minimum UK Level 6 qualification or ENIC equivalent in a related creative discipline.
• PGCE or recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Active involvement in contemporary creative practice or professional creative industries.
• Experience developing industry or community partnerships.
• Understanding of business, enterprise and freelance practices in the creative sector.

Required skills

• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Curriculum design and assessment experience.
• Ability to integrate real‑world industry projects into teaching.
