Part‑Time Management Accountant (Manufacturing)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant on a 3‑day‑per‑week interim basis for a 3‑6 month contract at an established manufacturing business near Bicester. The role is hands‑on, on‑site and focuses on delivering accurate management information and supporting operational finance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Produce balance‑sheet reconciliations and support month‑end reporting deadlines.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting.
• Analyse manufacturing costs, margins, overheads and overall operational performance.
• Review inventory, stock movements and work‑in‑progress, and investigate variances.
• Provide clear commentary on financial results to senior management.
• Improve financial controls, reporting processes and management information.
• Offer additional finance support to operational and production teams as required.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Proven management accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of stock, inventory, standard costing, margins and manufacturing variances.
• Ability to work independently on‑site three days per week.
