Part‑Time Payroll Assistant – Flexible Hours

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Payroll Assistant to join our growing payroll team in Wilmslow. The role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to develop within a firm that is bringing payroll work back in‑house and expanding its client base.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll runs of up to 80 payslips, handling new starters, leavers, sickness, statutory leave and time‑card entries.
• Perform routine compliance checks, including national minimum wage and PAYE validations.
• Support onboarding of new payroll clients and migrate data onto the firm’s cloud‑based payroll system.
• Manage monthly pension uploads, reconcile payments and ensure deadlines with multiple pension providers are met.
• Maintain compliance with the Pensions Regulator, GDPR and other relevant legislation.
• Respond to day‑to‑day payroll queries from internal colleagues and external clients via phone, email or in‑person.
• Provide holiday and day‑off cover for the payroll team as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in payroll administration.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of PAYE, pension and GDPR legislation.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
