Part‑time Postal Delivery Driver – Newton Aycliffe

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Postal Delivery Driver to join Royal Mail in Newton Aycliffe on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. You will deliver letters and parcels across the local community, working a flexible schedule of 30 hours per week, including occasional Sundays.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mail and parcels to residential and business addresses within the assigned route.
• Operate a company vehicle safely, adhering to road regulations and company policies.
• Walk long distances and handle deliveries in all weather conditions.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain signatures where required.
• Ensure the vehicle and uniform are kept clean and presentable.

Required profile

• Upbeat, independent and self‑motivated.
• Organised, punctual and committed to excellent customer service.
• Enjoy working outdoors and walking for long periods.
• Strong sense of community and pride in the role.
• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
