Part‑time SEND Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 2)

About the role
This part‑time position supports a welcoming school in Sunderland with dedicated assistance for children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stage 2. The role starts in September 2026 and runs on an ongoing basis, working Monday to Friday on‑site.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support to SEND pupils during lessons.
- Deliver small‑group and occasional whole‑class activities, leading sessions when required.
- Use initiative to adapt resources and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
Required profile
- Confident and experienced in one‑to‑one work with SEND children.
- Hold a Level 2 qualification relevant to the role.
- Ability to provide two references, preferably from an educational setting.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure in place or in process.
