Pastoral Care Assistant

About the role

The Pastoral Care Assistant will support the emotional and behavioural needs of young people with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges. Working within Luxborough Court School, you will help create a safe, nurturing environment where each student can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support to meet the emotional needs of students.
• Develop and implement individualized care programmes in collaboration with families and clinical teams.
• Conduct assessments and plan interventions to promote positive learning experiences.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain high standards of care and documentation.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people with ASD, BESD or similar complex needs in a school or care setting.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility and excellent organisational abilities.
