Pastoral Manager

About the role
The Pastoral Manager will work within Harris Academy Greenwich to create a safe, supportive environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. You will partner with staff, students, parents and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and promote positive behaviour throughout the school.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the School Behaviour Policy.
- Monitor the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of pupils within assigned year groups.
- Liaise with parents, external agencies and attend relevant meetings to support pupil needs.
- Supervise and review work that aligns with school policies and standards.
- Promote positive values, attitudes and good student behaviour, handling conflicts and incidents as they arise.
- Manage pupils displaying socially unacceptable or challenging behaviour.
- Build productive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and participation.
- Maintain daily contact with assigned pupils, supporting them to meet personal and academic targets.
Required profile
- Experience in supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care within an educational setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external partners.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment.
