Pastry Chef Trainer

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Pastry Chef Trainer to lead a live‑kitchen training programme for a charity that mentors people from challenging backgrounds. Working in an events‑catering environment, you will deliver high‑quality pastry dishes to paying customers while coaching and assessing trainees in real‑time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example as an experienced chef, guiding a team of culinary students.
• Develop, encourage and assess trainees across a range of hospitality skills.
• Operate a kitchen team to provide authentic restaurant experience.
• Manage food ordering, stock takes and ensure health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Maintain excellent food standards during live events.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Pastry Chef in a busy kitchen.
• Confidence to lead, train and develop a group of trainees.
• Previous experience in training and assessing, with formal training or assessor qualifications being a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Pastry preparation and baking techniques.
• Operation of kitchen equipment.
• Food ordering and stock management.
• Health and safety compliance in a catering environment.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000 per year.
