Payment Operations Manager (12 month FTC)

About the role

The Payment Operations Manager will lead daily payment activities for a medium‑size technology and telecoms organisation in Leeds. This 12‑month fixed‑term role focuses on accuracy, timeliness and continuous improvement of payment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor daily payment operations to ensure accuracy and on‑time processing.
• Analyse and optimise payment workflows to increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to align payment activities with financial targets.
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
• Identify, investigate and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare regular performance reports and key metrics for senior management.
• Support the rollout of new payment systems or tools.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on payment procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing payment operations, preferably in the technology or telecoms sector.
• Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
