Payroll Administrator

About the role

Hartley Home Care Limited is seeking a part‑time Payroll Administrator to support the Finance Manager in Camelford. You will work three days a week (Monday‑Wednesday) handling payroll processing and related queries for a family‑run care provider.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Manager with all aspects of payroll preparation and data verification.
• Serve as the first point of contact for payroll‑related queries, both in person and via email.
• Administer new starter, contract change, and leaver paperwork, ensuring accurate records.
• Manage electronic and paper‑based payroll documentation, chase outstanding items, and archive files in line with data‑protection policies.
• Enter payroll data promptly and accurately into the HR Information System.
• Adapt to existing payroll systems and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous payroll experience.
• Excellent organisational abilities and accurate data‑entry skills.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) or comparable qualifications.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative team attitude.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience using an HR Information System.

What we offer
