Payroll Administrator

About the role

Our client, a growing accountancy practice in Maidenhead, is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their finance team. The role involves managing payroll for a diverse portfolio of up to 100 client companies, ensuring accurate and timely processing on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly, monthly and annual payrolls for up to 100 client organisations.
• Enter starters, leavers, salary changes and other payroll data.
• Calculate and verify payroll figures, prepare approval reports and post‑payroll reporting for clients.
• Reconcile payrolls, issue P45s and maintain an up‑to‑date payroll database.
• Handle auto‑enrolment opt‑in/opt‑out, respond to employee and client queries, and liaise with HMRC.
• Ensure all electronic filing and statutory submissions are completed accurately.

Required profile

• Previous payroll experience, preferably within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
• Good knowledge of UK statutory payroll requirements (SSP, SMP, SPP, PAYE & NI).
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong IT proficiency and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Payroll software proficiency.
