Payroll Administrator (Part-time, Temporary)

About the role

The client is seeking a part-time Payroll Administrator to support their payroll function for an initial three-month period, with the possibility of extension. You will work closely with the payroll bureau and internal teams to ensure accurate processing of employee pay and related statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to employee payroll queries and provide timely assistance.
• Prepare payroll inputs and perform bulk uploads to the external payroll bureau.
• Conduct payroll checks, calculate manual payments and verify statutory deductions.
• Manage pension and benefit reporting, including data extraction and template preparation for the bureau.
• Submit P45 forms and handle third-party remittances by extracting relevant data from payroll reports.

Required profile

• Good understanding of UK Tax and National Insurance legislation, statutory payments and salary-sacrifice schemes.
• Experience with payroll processes, even if payroll is outsourced.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Availability for approximately 20 hours per week across 4-5 days.
