About the role
Our client, an education‑focused business in Reading, is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a short‑term assignment of 2–3 months. The successful candidate will join the finance team on‑site, working full‑time to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, calculate and enter payroll data, maintaining up‑to‑date records.
- Process pension amendments and statutory payments such as SSP, SPP and SMP.
- Prepare and submit P11D returns.
- Upload monthly payroll journals accurately and on schedule.
- Reconcile recorded hours with contracted hours.
- Respond to staff enquiries on salary, deductions, attendance and pension matters.
- Liaise with external agencies including HMRC and pension providers.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a payroll role.
- Strong attention to detail and high numerical accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
