Payroll Client Manager

About the role

TC Group, a fast‑growing top‑20 UK accountancy firm, is seeking a Payroll Client Manager for its Steyning office. You will support the Payroll Team in delivering accurate, timely payroll services to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day administration of client payrolls, including RTI submissions and year‑end reporting.
• Process starters, leavers, statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SSP) and upload pension contributions.
• Review and check payroll runs for accuracy before submission.
• Support the Payroll Manager in setting up new pension schemes and client payrolls.
• Handle payroll queries, meet strict deadlines and maintain high accuracy.

Required profile

• Experience with IRIS Payroll Professional (preferred).
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pensions, automatic enrolment and payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, family leave, etc.).
• Ability to calculate payroll results manually and explain them to clients.
