Payroll Implementation Manager

About the role

As a Payroll Implementation Manager at Sona, you will be the primary point of contact for customers as their payroll systems go live. You will guide them through discovery, configuration, parallel runs, training and go‑live, ensuring a smooth transition and accurate payslips.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end payroll implementations, including discovery, system configuration, parallel runs, training and go‑live.
• Configure and troubleshoot UK payroll setups, covering GL, pensions and RTI processing.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and drive them to completion.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Solutions Architects and the payroll bureau team.
• Travel to customer sites for training and launch support, complemented by remote delivery.
• Leverage AI tools for reconciliation, communication and administrative efficiency.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience implementing UK payroll systems from start to finish.
• Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and processing.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a curious mindset.
• High attention to detail and accountability.
• Enthusiasm for using AI in everyday tools such as spreadsheets and communications.

Required skills

• Experience with UK payroll software configuration.
• Understanding of GL, pension and RTI requirements.
