Payroll Manager – 9 month Fixed-term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across the TPXimpact Group. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will ensure accurate monthly payroll runs for three legal entities (approximately 500 employees), maintain regulatory compliance and integrate payroll data with our NetSuite finance system.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for three legal entities, handling starter/leaver adjustments, pension contributions, salary sacrifice, tax code changes and other variations.
• Issue payslips and timely P45s.
• Submit statutory returns to HMRC, including Full Payment Submissions (FPS) and Employer Payment Summary (EPS).
• Compile, verify and submit annual P11D forms.
• Partner with finance to align general ledger entries and produce payroll journals for NetSuite.
• Audit payroll outputs against HR records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll queries.
• Review and improve existing payroll processes to eliminate inefficiencies.
• Evaluate future payroll software and integration options to support company growth.
• Keep up‑to‑date with UK tax laws, pension rules and statutory regulations.

Required profile

• In‑depth expertise in UK payroll, including legislation and statutory reporting.
• Proven experience managing payroll for multiple legal entities and a workforce of around 500 employees.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, working closely with HR, Finance, Operations and IT.
• Ability to solve complex, non‑routine payroll issues and drive process improvements.
• Proactive attitude towards change management and continuous learning.
