Payroll Manager

About the role

We are seeking an organised Payroll Manager to take full ownership of a busy payroll function for multiple legal entities. Working closely with HR and Finance, you will ensure accurate salary processing, statutory compliance and smooth payroll operations in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end payroll for several entities, including salaries, incentives, benefits and pension contributions.
• Prepare and submit RTI filings and pension reports to HMRC.
• Maintain payroll records, investigate discrepancies and act as the primary contact for payroll queries.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, tax regulations and internal policies, supporting regulatory submissions.
• Produce statutory year‑end forms, management reports, reconciliation schedules and assist with audit requirements.
• Administer employee benefit programmes such as private healthcare and pension schemes, reconciling them with payroll data.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a full payroll function, preferably across multiple entities.
• Strong knowledge of HMRC regulations, RTI, pension filings and statutory reporting.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑motivated, independent and able to work collaboratively with HR and Finance teams.
